It's the end of New York's Fashion Week, and all of the designers, celebrities, fashionistas and journalist make their way home. Twice a year designers show their collections at the new location of  Fashion Week in New York's finest Lincoln Center. The Fashion Week Fall shows are held the preceding winter in February. Spring shows are held late summer in September. This fabulous event is by invitation only, each designer is in charge of their guest list. It's not impossible to get in, but it's all about who you know.
Michael Kors celebrated his 30th anniversary this 2011 Fall Fashion Week. With an audience that seated celebs such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Emma Roberts, Bette Midler, Michael Douglas and more. Mk's collection took Fashion Week by a storm and rocked it. His show was so Kors, with tunics and trousers, the collection was polished yet sporty. Kors can use a million neutrals in his pieces and each one is still so unique and chic. 70's disco draped jersey gowns graced the runway, luxuries and elegant.
Think, nude one shoulder toga gown flowing across the runway, like a feather in the air after a pillow fight at a slumber party, Amazing! Kors brought back thick, chunky belts, long skirts and high slits, he did it so perfectly. My favorite piece of the collection was a suntan turtle neck with suntan charmeuse pajama pants, thrown over was a huge cross body fur bag. Need I say more? Though Michael Kors did not let us down with his fab collection, there's someone else who didn't go un-noticed. The one and only Oscar De La Renta.
De La Renta went Russian chic. He put out statement pieces that you can wear forever and never go out of style. His collection was filled with glamorous embellishments, eastern textures, knits, lace, leather, fur, floral's and colors to die for. The technique used in De La Renta's work is unbelievable. I highly encourage everyone to sulk themselves into a little De La Renta.
